ABOUT THIS LIVESTREAM
Virtual Railfan’s live train cameras at Tucson, Arizona, are located at the historic Tucson Amtrak Station, home to the Southern Arizona Transportation Museum. Positioned on Union Pacific’s Sunset Route (Lordsburg Subdivision, milepost 983.9), the former Southern Pacific transcontinental line, this feed captures a vibrant mix of rail activity. Watch an average of 35 daily Union Pacific freight trains, including intermodal, manifest, and commodity trains, plus local trains, alongside Amtrak’s Sunset Limited/Texas Eagle with six weekly trains (three per direction) between New Orleans, LA, and Los Angeles, CA, featuring extended service stops. The fixed-view camera faces toward Phoenix, offering a clear perspective of this active Amtrak stop. Expect a maximum track speed of 40 MPH (not a Quiet Zone). The Sun Link streetcar maintenance facility, with its rounded roof and “Enjoy the Ride” neon sign, is visible across the tracks. Hosted by the Southern Arizona Transportation Museum, these cameras provide a window into Tucson’s rich rail heritage.
