Schlüttsiel ist das Tor zu den Halligen – jenem einzigartigen Archipel im Schleswig-Holsteinischen Wattenmeer, das zum UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe gehört. Von hier verbindet die MS Hilligenlei der Wyker Dampfschiffs-Reederei das Festland mit den Halligen Hooge und Langeneß. Die Hilligenlei ist das Wahrzeichen von Schlüttsiel und ziert als solches das Logo dieser Webcam. Bei klarer Sicht sind am Horizont die Halligen Langeneß (https://langeness.de) und Oland sowie die Insel Föhr (https://www.foehr.de) zu erkennen.
Den Hafen prägen Krabbenkutter, Ausflugsschiffe, Segler des Yacht-Club Dagebüll-Schlüttsiel (http://www.ycds-online.de) und die Halligfähre. Die Hafengesellschaft Dagebüll (http://www.uthlandehafen.de) sorgt für den reibungslosen Betrieb dieser Anlage an der Nordseeküste.
▶ Diese Webcam ist ein privates Projekt – kein kommerzielles Produkt, sondern das Ergebnis echter Leidenschaft für diesen Ort und für Technik. Die Basis bildet eine professionelle Axis IP-Kamera. Alle Anwendungen zur Bildaufbereitung sowie das Streaming-System wurden eigenständig auf Basis des AXIS ACAP-Standards entwickelt – einer offenen Plattform, die es erlaubt, eigene Software direkt auf der Kamera auszuführen, ohne externe Server.

Schlüttsiel is the gateway to the Halligen – a unique archipelago within the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. The MS Hilligenlei of the Wyker Dampfschiffs-Reederei connects the mainland with the Halligen islands of Hooge and Langeneß – and as the landmark of Schlüttsiel, she graces the logo of this webcam. On clear days, the Halligen islands of Langeneß (https://langeness.de) and Oland and the island of Föhr (https://www.foehr.de) are visible on the horizon.
The harbour is a lively place: crab cutters, excursion boats, sailors from the Yacht Club Dagebüll-Schlüttsiel (http://www.ycds-online.de) and the Hallig ferry shape the daily scene. The Hafengesellschaft Dagebüll (http://www.uthlandehafen.de) ensures smooth operation of this facility on the North Sea coast.
▶ This webcam is a private project – not a commercial product, but the result of genuine passion for this place and for technology. Built around a professional Axis IP camera, all image processing and the complete streaming system have been independently developed on the AXIS ACAP standard – an open platform allowing custom software to run directly on the camera, without any external server.
