Poštolky v naší lodžii hnízdí pravidelně od roku 2007. On z letošního páru u nás bydlí od listopadu 2019. S předchozí samičkou (bydlela u nás od července 2018 do ledna 2022) vyvedl v roce 2020 6 mláďat a v roce 2021 4 mladé. S aktuální paní poštolkou, která se tu poprvé objevila 12. února 2022, pak 4 mladé v roce 2022, v roce 2023 a 2024 6 mladých a vloni dokonce 7 mladých.

Oba u nás strávili zimu 2025—26. Námluvy začaly koncem února. První vejce bylo sneseno 5. dubna (9:15—9:17), druhé 7. dubna (9:57), třetí 9. dubna (11:18), čtvrté 11. dubna (14:34), páté 13. dubna (18:08), šesté v noci z 15. na 16. dubna (před 5:55), sedmé 18. dubna (před 6:10). Od večera 15. dubna začala poštolka trvale sedět na vejcích. Tři se vylíhla 11. května, čtvrté a páté 12. května, šesté 13. května. 27. května byla poštolčata okroužkována.První vyletělo do ulice 13. června, 16. června poslední, šesté. Všech šest se pak ještě vracelo domů. Naposledy se v rodné lodžii objevila 9. července a pak se již zřejmě definitivně vydala do světa.

Aktuálně je poštolčí lodžie po většinu dne a někdy i noci prázdná. Z rodičovského poštolčího páru ji navštěvuje hlavně sameček.

The story so far: Kestrels on our balcony have been nesting regularly since 2007. The male of the kestrel pair has been living with us since November 2019. With the previous female (she lived with us from July 2018 to January 2022), they brought out 6 young in 2020 and 4 young in 2021. With the current Mrs Kestrel, who appeared here on February 12, 2022, then 4 young ones in 2022, 6 ones in 2023 and 2024, in 2025 even 7 ones.

They both spent this winter 2025—26 with us. Courtship began in February. 1st egg laid on April 5th (9:15—9:17), second on April 7th (9:57), third on April 9th (11:18), fourth on April 11th (14:34), fifth on April 13th (18:08), sixth on the night of April 15-16, seveth on April 18th (before 6:10). “Our” female kestrel has been sitting on her eggs permanently since the evening of April 15th. Three hatched on May 11th, the fourth and fifth on May 12th, the sixth on May 13th. On May 27, the kestrel chicks were ringed. The first one flew out into the street on June 13, the last one on June 16. All six of them then returned home. The last time the young kestrels appeared on the balcony was on July 9.

Currently the kestrel balcony is empty for most of the day and sometimes even at night. Only the parent pair, mainly the male, visits it.
